J Dilla's mother, Mrs. Maureen "MaDukes" Yancey, is pleased to announce a new album of unreleased material from her son, J Dilla entitled "Rebirth of Detroit". The "Rebirth of Detroit" will feature new music from the late producer, as well as Detroit's finest emcees and musicians who have both worked with and/or been influenced by J Dilla.
WHO WAS J DILLA?
James Dewitt Yancey (February 7, 1974–February 10, 2006), better known by the stage names J Dilla and Jay Dee, was an American record producer who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan. He is listed as one of the music industry's most influential hip-hop artist, musician and producers of our time.
